What Is Organic Food?

Organic foods are simply grown and processed, genetic engineering, artificial and similar fertilizers, pesticides, weed and fungicides, growth regulators, hormones, antibiotics, preservatives, colorants, additives, chemical coatings and brighteners and chemical packaging are foodstuffs in which materials are not used. Includes organic foods, plant and animal foods.

What are the Main Advantages of Organic Food and Agriculture?

Most importantly, we know it is free from pesticides. In addition, this term refers to the fact that for a minimum of three years these crops were grown in the field where no pesticides or chemicals were used.
Organic foods are processed and packaged without the use of any artificial preservatives, coloring, brightening or other additives.

How do we know if a food item offered for sale is organic?

Today, many countries in the world have solved this problem.
Authorized public institution or a non-governmental organization authorized by the public protects the rights of the consumer by granting these products.
In order for a farmer to obtain an organic food and organic agriculture certificate, he must have accepted the control and inspection of this authorized institution.
The farmer who accepts this inspection will accept that he will not use any preservatives, brighteners, colorants and similar additives while processing or packaging any pesticides, chemical fertilizers, hormones or antibiotics and products in his field. In addition, it will accept the diversity principle that will enrich the ecological balance and the nutritional values of the soil by planting an appropriate variety of crops every year instead of uniform culture agriculture in order to maintain the health and productivity of the soil.
The necessary certificate can be issued after a strict inspection and control whether all these accepted conditions are fulfilled.
Today, this system is operated in a healthy way in many countries of the world.

Why Are Organic Foods Sold More Expensive Than Foods Produced Using the Ordinary System?

Undoubtedly, the biggest disadvantage of organic foods for consumers is this price difference. The reason for this is that, unfortunately, organic food and agriculture has not yet received the necessary and sufficient support from both consumers and the public.

The fact that it cannot be bought by the consumers is due to its inability to create a high demand in the market. We can mention two important reasons for this. The first is that it is unconscious, and the second is that the price difference has a negative effect on purchasing power. Due to the lack of demand, Organic Food producers do this job in small-scale fields and therefore they cannot compete with the producers who make mass production in large lands in terms of cost.
However, it is a pleasing development in the world today. The speed of learning and awareness of the damage caused by pesticides and chemicals, additives used during processing, on human health is increasing day by day.
As for the issue of not getting the necessary support from the public side. Unfortunately, the states do not reflect the cost of ancillary services, which have made many and large financial contributions to the existing agriculture, to the farmers engaged in this type of production. Many research, breeding units, crop support funds, etc. such advantages have not yet been reflected on the newly formed organic food producers. This prevents the unit prices from being at a competitive level in organic food production, which already operates with small production volumes and with higher costs.
However, we believe that the awareness of the consumer mass that it is very important to protect themselves and their children from the dangers of the current food system will rapidly gain momentum.
